The Calm Before the Proverbial Storm

Yesterday was a pretty calm day.  We got up early and had breakfast with a few of the people here.  We then went with Dave and toured the homeless shelters that he directs.  The one that we toured was set up for single moms and their children.  After a stop for a Dr. Pepper, we went to Stockton.  (I had to stop for a Dr. Pepper because I was struggling with the jet lag)  In Stockton we met with the other Brethren pastor in the area.  Actually, there are only 2 Brethren churches in California that happen to be 20 miles apart.   We had lunch together and then went back to his house to hang out and get to know each other.  Maggie played with his son Caleb.  They were playing his toy piano and singing into some toy microphone...it sounded interesting!!! We came home and took a nap.  I have had several people tell me the jet lag going the other way isn't as bad...I hope they are right!  After our nap, we had dinner at the church with the leadership team.  It was pretty informal...today it the interview.  We are in the process of getting ready and will be heading over soon.  So today Beth and I will be interviewed.  Thankfully they will have someone watching Maggie!  She has been terrific through this whole trip, but the random requests to go the bathroom whould not be good for the interview process!! Thanks for all your prayers.  Check back later for an other update!
