Cool Connections
We had a couple of cool connections this week. First, a lady came by the church to rent the social hall for a baby shower honoring her daughter's pregnancy. In our conversation, I found out that her son manages the coffee shop that I like to go to. She lives right around the corner from the church, so hopefully it will be an open door for her and her family.
Second, On Wednesday, I was working in my office and I was called out to talk with a guy who is working on the fence around our backyard. While we were talking a young guy knocked on the front door of the church and asked if I knew anything about the neighborhood because he was moving into the area and was looking for a good place to live. Coincidentally, (yeah right!!) he was from Texas and recently graduated from Texas A&M where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He just was hired by a company in the area as one of their engineers. Not surprisingly, we had a connection. We chatted about some corps stuff for a while and I gave him my number if he needed any help. The next day he returned to the church and told me that he was going to rent an apartment behind the church. We hope to help him unpack sometime this coming week. He needed a place to stay until he gets his apartment lined up, so he is staying with us for a couple of days. He came to church this morning and seemed to connect with our small, friendly group.
So, I am no fortune teller, but I am excited about the connections this week. Hopefully it will lead to some pretty cool Kingdom advances!
