Minnesota - Day 3
Today - Jeremiah! We have been talking about the call narrative in Jeremiah. In Jeremiah 1:6 - 8 Jeremiah and God have a great conversation.... "Ah, Sovereign LORD," I (Jeremiah) said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child." But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD. I can only think that Paul could have quoted these verses over and over again to Timothy as he was trying to encourage him in his leadership. God does it over and over again in scripture. Moses need courage to speak, Joshua need courage to lead into the promise land. Jeremiah needed encouragement to speak God's message. Timothy needed encouragement to lead a fledgling church. So over and over God says... Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.God is Good.On an encouraging pastor search note. I received a call from a church yesterday and they asked for a copy of some messages. They are hopefully listening to them over the next few days. Don't know enough right now to have a clear since of who they are, but I am encouraged! Please continue to pray for Beth and I as we continue to seek God's direction.
