What a week!
Today is my birthday. It has been a good one. I played golf today with a friend from church. (Jesse) I played pretty well. I shot an 81. I was hoping to shoot in the 70's, but I blew it on the last 2 holes...that is ok...I still had a good time!
Yesterday, I turned in the last few assignments I had left to finish my degree. Seminary is officially over!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been a long 3 years, but I am glad that I was able to be apart of Bethel and I believe seminary has been good for me.
Saturday, my daughter called my bluff. We have been trying to get her potty trained. She and her mom went to a pet store and saw a kitten. I told her if she could stop using pull ups, she could have the kitten. By the end of the day, she had taken care of business. I was amazed at how determined she was to get that cat. We are now the proud owner of a 5 week old kitten. Of course, Maggie named her Cinderella.
Finally, Beth and I have decided to restart our efforts to adopt a child. We believe that God has called us to do this. We do not have fertility issues, this has been on our hearts for most of our marriage. We had started the process in January '06, but as we worked our way through the process, we realized that each state has its own procedures. At that point, we were not sure where we would be living so we chose not to invest the money at that time because we would have lost the investment if and when we left Georgia. So here we are again. We have contacted the adoption agency and we have started looking into what California requires for home visits. We are both excited and nervous. We are praying for the child and the mom who chooses to give up her child. There is a chance that this mom may have not given birth yet. So there is quite a bit to pray for. We will keep you posted as things progress.
